I love traditions! As the Christmas season is upon us, I've been trying to come up with things we can do together that the kids will love and remember. This year I'm attempting to do 25 days of Christmas. We will do something special, and of course Christmasy, everyday from December 1st -25th. To be honest I'm not doing anything major, just simply little crafts or baking. We will try to watch a new Christmas movie together one night and read Christmas books beside the Christmas tree another night. Now that my boys are old enough to realize everything is not about them, I wanted to involve them in some activities where we would be baking or buying something and giving to other people (some they may not even know). For example, Angel Tree ministry, taking baked goodies to the home bound members of our church, there's a nursing home in town that has a store that the patients can buy stuff from (we could donate some items to the store). I'm excited to see the boys participate in these activities that require them to give and not receive (at least materially). Here's a few pictures from what we've done on Day 1-5.
Day 1: Decorate the Tree
 |
| All 3 boys wanted a turn putting the star on the tree. Here's Landen starting them off. |
 |
| Darren's turn |
 |
| Jonathan put a paper angel on the tree since we were still a little worried about him breaking the glass star. |

| Handsome boys all finished |

| Our tree! Nothing fancy, but we love it. Each ornament tells a story of our life. |
Day 2: Well, This was a Sunday and we actually didn't do anything. But no worries, we've still got 23 more days!
Day 3: We went to the store and purchased our Angel Tree gifts. That evening we wrapped them (Sorry no pictures) and made peppermint chocolate chip cookies! They were the Pillsbury refrigerated cookie dough kind and they were delicious!
Day 4: We went to Chick-fil-a for Santa's Workshop kid's night. The boys got to make a peppermint chocolate chip milkshake ornament, get their face's painted, and have their picture taken with Santa cow and Elf cow. They had a blast! (Unfortunately my two photos of the boys and us with the cows won't upload)
Day 5: We made reindeer cookies. Super cute and Super easy! Even Jonathan got to make some!
 |
| I gave each boy a cookie to decorate and before I could stop him, Jonathan had started eating his cookie! |

The kids & I are really enjoying these special days! I hope they remember these special times for a long time because I know I will! Thank you God for allowing me to have an awesome husband and 3 wonderful children to share my life with!
