In Need of Advice

I love being a stay at home mom! As a mom, I feel that my first & foremost "job" is to care for my children. Unfortunately, after lots of thought it looks like we need more than just Tony's income. I'm trying to find ways to bring in some income while still staying home with the kids. If anyone knows of any ways, please let me know. Due to the price of childcare (esp. for 2), I think a part-time position outside of home would almost be pointless; & I really don't want to work full-time. I'm afraid I would miss so much of the kids milestones & fun things they do while they're alert & happy during the day. I really need every ones help on this! Please let know if you know of anything I could do! Thanks in advance for all your help!

  1. One thing I've thought about doing is keeping other people's kids. It would be especially good if they're a teacher...that way you would have school holidays and summers free. You could see if your church or any church in the area has a need for a paid worker during the week...like if a church has a preschool, mother's day out, or something like that...that way you could take the kids with you. Hope you're able to find something! I know exactly how you feel...we've felt the financial crunch of being a one income family, too. The Lord will provide!

  2. I am watching a child after we have our second. And I have watched a couple in the past. My suggestion is to have them around the same age as your kids, it makes it easier on you and them.
Also I am going to start doing some medical transcription at home. I think it will take 10-15 hours a week. I hope I can do it this summer while Hayden is sleeping and then once the baby come maybe in the evening when Josh gets home.
When we made the decision to do one income it was not easy at first but now its been 8 months and God has provided.
Pray about it, and we will pray for your alls decision
